How to make a bow tie yourself

How to make a bow tie?

 

You will need:

• Cotton canvas canvas
• Scissors
• Pins

• Thread in the same color

Cut out two rectangular figures

Making this pretty accessory is not difficult at all. All you need is a bit of dexterity and a certain familiarity with needles and thread. Get to work immediately by taking the fabric and cutting out two rectangle-shaped figures with scissors. To personalize your bow tie, we advise you to choose a particular fabric, not plain colored, but which contains nice and colorful designs (balls, stars or hearts), in order to create a truly graceful and original object. For a medium-sized bow tie, the measurements of the rectangles must be 20×15 cm and 10×5 cm, respectively. Then, fold each fabric in half and sew all the ends together. You will thus obtain the strip. It will then be necessary to grab the flap on its right and left sides and fold it again.

Create the ring

You will therefore notice that the bow of your bow tie will have been easily made. Now you will have to dedicate yourself to the creation of the ring that serves to cover and enrich your bow tie. Nothing could be simpler: fold two ends of the fabric half a centimeter along the widest side and then flatten the fabric with the hot jet of an iron. Take the short strip and wrap it around the bow and then sew a hand stitch to secure the bow properly.

Pass the elastic inside the ring

Your work will now only need a simple finishing: take the piece of elastic and pass it inside the ring. Here, therefore, is made, in a few steps and with very little expense, a personalized bow tie, ready to be worn on the most important occasions or even as a nice accessory to show to friends and appear more pleasant and joyful.
